MULLED CHRISTMAS WINE

The aroma of mulled wine filling the house envokes the feeling of Christmas in July in a second. The warmth of friendship and family, coming together and sharing in celebration. 

MULLED WINE BENEFITS

Mulled Christmas Wine is not only a great festive drink to enjoy, but this delicious drink is also good for you. Red wine, which forms the base of this drink is a rich source of antioxidants, including resveratrol. These antioxidants may promote great heart health and keep us looking young! The traditional spices that give mulled wine its wonderful aroma and flavour also contain health promoting properties. The cinnamon and nutmeg are both warming spices that have been traditionally used to help encourage healthy digestion and the citrus peel and rosehip are great sources of vitamin C. Wrap your hands around a cup of mulled wine to reap the antioxidant and digestive benefits. 

INGREDIENTS

1 x bottle of organic pinot noir 

4 x tablespoons of Ovvio Organic Mulled Christmas Tea

5 x tablespoons of raw honey 

a handful of dried cranberries or currants

fresh mandarin or orange slices

a handful of almond flakes

METHOD

Pour wine into saucepan, add tea, honey and fruit. Simmer for 45minutes on low to medium heat. Serve hot.

For alcohol free version, simply omit the wine! Tastes just as good.
