Ovvio Winter Tea Collection & Tea Ambassador Launch Party

25th June 2015
Anthia Koullouros

ON THE 16TH JUNE AT HOTEL CENTENNIAL IN WOOLLAHRA, WE INTRODUCED OUR FIRST EVER ‘TEA AMBASSADORS’ ALONG WITH OUR NEW ORGANIC WINTER TEA COLLECTION.

We were thrilled to introduce amazing friends as our new ambassadors including Justin North, John McGrath and Michael Cheika. Over the coming months, other ‘friends’ of Ovvio will be introduced to Ovvio’s loyal community base including Mike McEnearney, artist George Raftopoulos, football legends the Burgess brothers.

JUSTIN NORTH – EXECUTIVE CHEF AT HOTEL CENTENNIAL and long time friend and supporter of the brand created an exquisite array of canapés which were beautifully paired with two specially chosen teas.

NO 10 PADDINGTON ORGANIC TEA (LEMON MYRTLE, LEMONGRASS, LICORICE ROOT) WAS MATCHED WITH:

  • –  Saikou Alpine salmon taco with green chilli & horseradish (GF)
  • –  Heirloom tomato & goats curd with toasted black sesame (GF)
  • –  Prawn brioche with devilled spices and curry leaf

NO 50 PEACE BAMBINO ORGANIC TEA (chamomile flower, aniseed, caraway seed & dill seed) was paired with:

  • –  Charred carrot & burrata rolls up (GF)
  • –  Dry aged Angus burger
  • –  Zokoko chocolate & salted caramel tart

GUESTS WERE WELCOMED WITH A ‘TEA COCKTAIL’ SERVED TO THEM USING EXQUISITE TEAPOTS CREATED BY HOTEL CENTENNIAL MIXOLOGIST GERAINT. The cocktail consisted of Fair’s ethical Gin made with juniper berries and infused with No 30 C-Strength Citrus Organic Ovvio Tea. A non alcoholic version was also served, which showcased one of Ovvio’s best iced teas No 81 Summer Pineapple.

THE EVENT WAS EMCEED BY PETER MOCHRIE. Other guests on the night included Marty Boetz, Kate Kendall, Julie Gibbs, Robyn Holt, Kate Johnson, Emilio and Giselle Cano (Shark Tank contestants).

THE WINTER TEA COLLECTION THAT WAS INTRODUCED CONSISTED OF NO 30 C-STRENGTH CITRUS, NO 31 MARSHMALLOW SOOTHE AND NO 83 WINTER OLIVE .

The evening was wrapped up with the always popular NO 86 MULLED CHRISTMAS SPICE ORGANIC TEA (after all, it will be time for Christmas in July before we know it, so we thought we’d get in a little early). And all guests left with a beautiful Ovvio tin of the namesake No 10 Paddington Organic Tea, a taste of the winter collection and a tea menu detailing the Ovvio offering.
